Abstract :
A number of entrepreneurial companies, in the mid 80s and early 90s, rose to the challenge of producing the software tools and expert services for cellular operators worldwide. Of these, Mobile Systems International (MSI) and it´s PlaNET product range have become the quality market leader. The authors look at the history of planning tools and categorise them into different generations of tools by looking at the level of overall focus the tools give of the system
