Abstract
Polymer/liquid crystal compound film with similar parabola mode electro-optical has been realized by adjusting its composition. With the increase of applied voltage, its transmittance decreased to the minimal value firstly, and then it increased again. Such a film exhibits a higher dynamic range and lower threshold voltage, which has the potential applications in variable optical attenuators, and switching in optical fiber communication.
