Abstract :
A new and simple dual band-notched UWB antenna with parasitic elliptical radiation patch is presented in this paper. The proposed antenna consists of a microstrip-fed line ended with a small disc on the front side, an elliptical radiation patch and a modified rectangular ground plane on the other side. By etching slotlines in the radiation patch and an inverted U-shaped slot in the microstrip-fed line, the dual band-notched characteristics at 3.5 GHz and 5.5 GHz are achieved, respectively. The parameters determining the antenna´s band-notched characteristics are discussed in this paper. Good agreement between simulations and measurements is obtained, which shows the antenna is a promising candidate for UWB applications.
