Abstract :
Product code that can correct burst-error and random-error simultaneously is a type of new code composed of the simple codes (such as BCH codes). We analyze the performance of product codes, and simulate the cases in which product codes are used to correct error in the mobile channels with different modulation, different data rate and different vehicle speed. We also compare the performance between product codes and interleaved BCH codes, which are both efficient to correct long-burst errors. The conclusion is drawn that the product codes can improve the BER of channels ten times as low as interleaved codes can do
