Abstract :
This paper mainly illustrates the application of ultra-capacitor (UC) to the energy storage system (ESS) in hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) and proposes a new design of ESS. Considering that the conventional design of ESS is not efficient, the new ESS of HEV, which utilizes the UCs to store the braking energy and supply the power for the vehicle while accelerating, improves the efficiency of power management.
