    This paper reports on VHF/UHF detection of partial discharges in SF6 gas insulation. The measuring circuit containing a capacitive disc coupler and a spectrum analyzer is described. Due to the specific occurrence character of partial discharge pulses rules for optimal setting of the spectrum analyzer are given
