Abstract :
Project Based Learning(PBL) is widely implemented in universities due to the reasons that it is synonymous with learning in depth, learning activities which engage students´ interest and motivation, and solving practical problems which reflect the type of work people do in the real world rather than a typical classroom exercise. This paper presents and discusses one of the PBL units, Microcomputer Systems Design (EEET2365, EEET2227) implemented in RMIT Vietnam and RMIT Australia. This unit has an emphasis on a practical real world problem of using an ARM microcontroller to perform real time calculations using data from a Global Positioning System (GPS) flight simulator.
