Abstract :
This paper presents a parallel implementation of the alternating-direction-implicit finite-difference time-domain (ADI-FDTD) for the analysis of uniform transmission lines. Different from message passing interface (MPI) scheme, a multi-core computing based on the shared memory system using OpenMP library is adopted to shorten computing time on personal computers (PCs). An example of a lossy microstrip line demonstrates the validity and efficiency of the proposed method. A parallel efficiency of 90% and a speed-up of 5.4 are obtained when six cores are employed in the parallel computation.
