Abstract
In the present work, reconfigurable plasma antennas using a dipole plasma antenna as the radiation element are characterized for the application in the VHF/UHF range. And the relationship between the plasma parameters and the radiation characteristic is investigated. Together with the results of simulations on the structure, the resonant frequency of this antenna can change easily by controlling the applied power, and the gain of the antenna can achieve 8.8 dB, and the half power beam width is 65.6° at the best plasma parameters.
