Abstract :
Mixed-signal system simulation often lacks either performance or accuracy. We attempt to bridge the gap between abstract digital models and analog netlists by performing an accelerated mixed-level transient simulation. A precomputation method at electrical level allows for a considerably faster simulation than with SPICE like simulators. Utilizing an automatically generated SystemC interface, our simulation kernel analyzes mixed analog/digital circuits where mixed-level digital descriptions are possible. Results show a speedup of up to two orders of magnitude compared to mixed-signal simulation using ModelSim coupled with Saber or HSpice.
