Abstract :
To solve the problem about accurate recognition of gap state in Micro-EDM, voltage waveforms in the electrode anti-copy experiment are analyzed to obtain that they are of different spectral characteristics, and the idea of spectrum feature recognition for gap state is proposed, along with the spectral analysis method of gap state. In order to design the program to achieve the idea, the FFT fast algorithm is used, and through MATLAB simulations the feasibility of algorithm identification is proved, determining the fundamental parameters of the program. The recognition program which is written by C++ language, achieves accurate recognition of the electrode´s speed and servo characteristics. Experimental results show that this recognition method is also very practical for gap state of micro-hole machining.
