Abstract :
Floc recycle and its various impacting factors were examined in order to treat low-turbidity, low-temperature water in a low-cost, high-efficiency way. The source water had a turbidity of ~1.5 NTU and temperature ranged 8-10°C. The results showed that sludge recycle was very effective and economic. The best turbidity range for the mixture was around 20 NTU and the best floe age was less than 3 d. With 50% new floe, the PAC dose could be as low as 5 mg/L; without new floe, the PAC dose was 10mg/L.
