  • Abstract
After analyzing the rule of TCP congestion window protocol based on AIMD, the paper deduces the requisite route buffer and queuing delay of standard TCP and N-TCP when link reaches 100% utilization rate, and discusses the effect to the two achieving throughputs (bandwidth utilization) when the router buffer changes. Theoretical analysis and simulation show that, with the router buffer decreasing and other conditions unchanged, TCP Reno´s throughput reduces significantly; However N-TCP maintains a high utilization still; it is superior to TCP Reno in adaptability and stability to the variety of router buffer obviously.
