Abstract :
A study of 1-persistent carrier-sense multiaccess (CSMA) on the bus topology is reported. The discrete space-time model, which is represented by a spatial distribution of stations and a sequence of packet arrival time and its propagation delay is used. The throughput of the system with a finite number of stations is evaluated. Numerical results show that the throughput is much higher than for the time-domain result when the ratio between the medium propagation delay and the packet transmission time is large
