Abstract :
Lightweight, implantable lithium/carbon monofluoride primary cells were developed and discharged under a family of constant resistance loads at 37°C. Closed circuit potential and internal impedance were monitored throughout discharge. Operating temperature range was also examined from -10°C to 50°C. The data indicate that the cells should deliver 1.2 Ah to a 2 V cutoff under a 100 kohm resistor and are able to operate over a 60°C temperature range
