Abstract :
A miniature omni-directional ultra-wideband planar monopole antenna is designed using finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) method. The antenna includes a planar circular disc as a monopole, a uniform microstrip feed line, a tapered microstrip feed line and a double-feed technique. Ground plane composes a gradually changeable structure to improve the performance of the antenna. Measured results show that -10 dB S11 bandwidth is from 2.82 GHz to 12 GHz for the proposed antenna. The measured results are in good agreement with simulated ones.
