Abstract :
This paper researches the influences of different contents of cement and incorporation methods on the mechanical properties, water resistance, and frost resistance of adobe wall of different parts in China, and determined the optimal adding dosage of cement and way of cement penetrating. Through the methods of full-doped and surface-doped, 0, 4%, 8%, 12% of the cement is mixed in soil sample of Shaanxi, Yunnan, Shanxi, Gansu, Inner Mongolia, Shenyang. The compressive strength, water absorption rate, frost resistance of the adobe wall materials are tested separately and the characteristics of cement modification are analyzed. The result shows the mechanical properties, water resistance and frost resistance of all adobe wall materials are improved evidently if the mixing content of cement increases when surface-doped cement thickness is 4-6mm. The optimal mixing rate is 8%. Meanwhile, surface-doped cement can not only make adobe wall materials keep its original performance but also meet national standard requirement.
