Abstract
This paper describes the implementation of a prototype application that translates test programs from their native format to other test environment formats. Typical of software translators, the design is based on an intermediate language that accepts multiple input modules, one for each supported input language, and multiple output modules, one for each supported target language. The translatorpsilas intermediate language is based on the IEEE P1671.1 Draft Trial-Use Standard for ATML Test Descriptions. This paper describes the translator and how P1671.1 was used, not only as a test requirements exchange format, but as the basis for a test program exchange format. Extensions were added to the standard schema to accommodate the programming language constructs.
