Abstract
In buildings of our age various kinds of extended electronic and other metallic networks exist. From these different networks, having different paths inside a building, dangerous loops could be formed. After a close lightning stroke, the lightning current flowing in the downconductors produces overvoltages in these loops. Their magnitude depends on many parameters. The protection against these harmful overvoltages can be optimized by the careful selection of a suitable structure of the conductors, the electrical, geometrical circumstances and the construction of the building and the appropriate layout of the downconductors
