Abstract :
A high performance quad-ridged orthomode transducer (OMT) with small size was designed based on the traditional quad-ridged OMT for C band receiver of shanghai 65m radio telescope. The structure and working principle of the improved OMT were introduced, detail size and main performance characteristics were given, and FEM and FIT methods were used to verify the reliability of the improved quad-ridged OMT. Finally, the tolerance of the OMT is analyzed.
