Abstract :
Summary form only given. For any practical realization of molecular electronics, peripheral devices for addressing these molecular systems are absolutely essential; they represent a challenge similar to that of molecular electronics itself and should be considered part of it. The author describes the possibility of electrical addressing through ultraminiaturized semiconductor systems of reduced dimensionality and of optical addressing with microlaser systems and methods of integrated optics
