  • Abstract
A multiresolution (MR) basis is presented in electric-field integral equation (EFIE) for analysis of scattering problems. The proposed MR basis functions are constructed as linear combinations of the so called generalized Rao-Wilton-Glisson (gRWG) functions and can be finally represented by linear combinations of the standard RWG basis functions. The MR basis functions can be treated as an extension of the traditional loop-tree basis function to hierarchical functions. Compared with the traditional RWG basis and loop-tree basis, the MR basis has significant advantage in convergence speed for iterative solvers in low-frequency range. The numerical results demonstrate that the MR basis is efficient for the electromagnetic scattering problems.
