Abstract :
Because of the problems associated with the interpretation and visualisation of the large amounts of data generated in modern NDT applications, there is a need to develop both software and hardware solutions, in order that data can be efficiently and reliably evaluated. This paper has discussed the TRAPPIST project whose purpose is to tackle the aforementioned problems by developing a series of facilities which allow NDT data from different methods to be processed remotely by experts located at different sites, with the appropriate data transferred and combined. A number of demonstrations have been successfully undertaken based on the initial work on this project with the next development stage involving the use of industrial data to assess the implemented TRAPPIST workstation
