Abstract :
This paper puts forward a macro mechanism for the question that existing IMS distance education technology specifications cannot support any sequencing component with parameters in a content package. This mechanism adds two categories, a macro element and a macro-call element, into the IMS content package information model. The macro element is used to design a sequencing component that has an interface of parameters. Inside the content organization section, when the macro-call element refers to the sequencing component defined by a macro element, it can transfer different actual parameters to the sequencing component, enhancing the reusability of that sequencing component. This method improves the programming environment of the learning sequencing and effectively reduces the redundancy of the learning sequencing in a content package.
