Abstract :
With increasing technology, more complex highway addressable remote transducer (HART) field devices have been developed with flexible cores. This paper discusses the development of a basic generic device description (DD) with a flexible core for HART field devices which is suitable for both the Simatic PDM and HART Communicator. This paper also shows the test results of the DD with a level monitoring device. The tests are made with the device using the Simatic PDM and HART Communicator to ensure a correct and complete user interface.
