Abstract
The two components of a magnetic pulse compression circuit are the capacitors and the nonlinear inductors. A simple method to simulate magnetic pulse compression is presented. The series resistor of the capacitor, the parallel resistor for the eddy current of the cores and the series resistor of the windings were measured. Also, the nonlinear behavior and the temperature drift of the normally used class II capacitors are included. The results of the model are compared with those of a real circuit. The model gives a much better understanding of the losses in a magnetic pulse compression circuit.
