Abstract :
This paper is aimed to alleviate the water pollution and evaluate the water quality of Chanba River downstream with the use of standard index law. For the river pollution control and the reduction of pollution sources, the river is divided into five functional areas and a water quality model, which calculates the water environment capacity (WEC) of Chanba River downstream by using a one-dimensional model, is built based on the characteristics of different areas. The results show that: the organic pollution of Chanba River downstream is serious, its chemical oxygen demand (COD) is 3461 t/a and ammonia-nitrogen is 164 t/a. This research results provide a reference for management and total control of water environment in the downstream of Chanba River.
