Abstract :
Transmission towers for major lines constitute a critical component because it is undesirable to lose any major transmission lines for longer than a few weeks. Since tower fabrication cannot be accomplished quickly on-demand, it is important to hold an adequate inventory of transmission towers. This paper discusses a statistical procedure to analyze failure data and estimate inventory requirements for transmission towers, using a homogeneous Poisson process model
