Establishment of an algorithm for detecting the multi-scale contours in the forms of FPGA circuits
Abstract :
The extraction of the contours of a numerical image plays a very important role in image processing. A method of contours extraction utilising a rapid wavelet transforms algorithm is described. This method allows the detection of multi-scale contours and in an optimum way all the details of the contours presented in an image by changing the scales. For real time applications dedicated to the detection of multi-scale contours, we have developed an algorithm based on the formalism of Mallat (1992) and by using the Deriche (1987) filter generalised as a pure wavelet function and we have established it on FPGA circuits
