Abstract :
The air void has great effects on properties that resisting water damage and high-temperature rut of asphalt concrete. This paper deals with the effect of asphalt mixture weight in the mold of gyratory compactor and the addition of conductive fillers on the air void. At first, by the gyratory compactor, the samples that have different asphalt mixture weight are prepared. The experiment results indicate that the air void decreases with increasing asphalt mixture weight in the mold, then the change regularity of air void is analyzed in theory. Secondly, the conductive fillers are added into the asphalt concrete and then the corresponding samples are also prepared by gyratory compactor. The result that the addition of conductive fillers decrease the air void is depicted and the reason of the result is mainly the high specific surface area of the conductive fillers.
