Abstract
In this paper, we present a fast converging Set-membership Constant Modulus algorithm (SM-CM) for blind interference suppression in direct-sequence/code-division multiple-access (DS/CDMA) systems. We add a specified upper bound for the cost function of constant modulus algorithm (CMA), adaptively changing the step-size in the hyperstrip space which is decided by the upper error bound, so as to obtain the optimal weight of the detector. Simulations indicate that the SM-CM algorithm outperforms the CMA in convergence speed and steady-state performance and the SM-CM algorithm can work especially well when there are multiple-access interference (MAI) and narrow band interference (NBI) in the system.
