Abstract
This paper presents the results of a general experimental procedure to accurately measure the interference-limited capacity of a TDMA-type cellular network under various configurations. A simple, new theoretical model is developed and fit to the experimental data, showing excellent agreement. A linear relationship between bandwidth and capacity is demonstrated, as well as the precise increase of capacity afforded by a new smart antenna base station
