Abstract :
Wetlands are one of the most important natural ecosystems of the earth, and Hangzhou Xixi Wetland plays an important role to the city. However, it faces many critical matters in the investigation, restoration and monitoring. This paper carries out a quantitative research on wetland ecosystems using a time series of remote sensing imagery. It retrieves some principle biophysical parameters, including NDVI, vegetation fraction and LAI, so as to establish a quantitative and spatial detailed database of biophysical condition in Hangzhou Xixi Wetland in recent years. Accordingly, the variation and the corresponding cause in urban development are concluded, both as a whole or some sectional parts. The conclusion of cause consists of 3parts, namely the 3key factors for the variation of the biophysical parameters in the wetland. At the end of this paper, some disadvantages of the analysis are discussed, as well as future efforts on the wetland research.
