Abstract :
In this paper, a combined power and rate control algorithm is proposed and evaluated for a multi-code DS-CDMA integrated service system. Different class of service is allocated with different power level to satisfy its energy to interference ratio requirement. Delay sensitive services are allowed to transmit with their burst rate and a residual effective bandwidth based algorithm is used to control the transmission rate of non-delay sensitive services. Simulation experiments are used to investigate the system performance and show that our resource allocation scheme results in less packet loss probability than the scheme which arbitrarily fixes the bit rate.
