Abstract :
Regardless of business sector and project size, successful project management depends on adroit simultaneous handling of nine management areas. These are the management of project: scope; cost; schedule; contracts-procurement; resources; communications; risk; quality; and personal effectiveness. On any project they are all interwoven. This presentation focuses on defining each of these nine management areas and some of the tools, techniques and philosophies associated with each area. Additionally, a brief introduction to ISO/CD 9004-6 (ISO 1006), “Guidelines on Quality Assurance for Project Management” is presented. These guidelines, currently in Committee Draft (CD) form, are being developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO)
