Abstract
The ultra wide band UWB communications are based on lower than nanosecond pulses spread on an ultra wide frequency spectrum. In this article, we present the homodyne receiver and precisely the analog to digital converter ADC dimensioning used for UWB communications. At present, several techniques exist to generate the waveform and we have chosen the TFI-OFDM (time frequency interleaved orthogonal frequency division multiplex) that would be considered as the most promising technique. The found specifications permit us to conclude on the possible ADC architectures.
