Abstract
A technique for target locations in the through-the-wall radar imaging application is presented. The algorithm corrects for the shifts in target positions due to ambiguities in the wall thickness and dielectric constant. Imaging is obtained using wideband beamforming with the antennas placed against the wall. The imaging is performed for different assumed sets of wall parameters and using two different structures of transmit and receive arrays. For each structure, a trajectory of the shifts in the target locations is formed. The target position is estimated as the intersection of the two corresponding trajectories. The paper shows the close proximity of the target estimated and true positions. The performance of the proposed technique is robust to the target location behind the wall and to various array structures.
