Abstract :
Learning experience and lessons from failure, building failure knowledge database and achieving failure knowledge management play an important role in avoiding and preventing project failure. And project failure knowledge representation is the premise of effective use. Considering the project failure´s many paths, using failure-cause tree analysis technology (FCTA) to describe the project failure causes and the logical relationship between them. On the basis of the causes and knowledge of project failure, FCTA is proposed to describe the failure process of events graphically and a data structure is put forward to express project failure knowledge. Then this paper analyzes the application of the project failure knowledge representation method. Finally, a case illustrates the process of the project failure knowledge representation method.
