Abstract
The most commonly used control algorithm in industry is the Proportional-Derivative-Integral (PID) control. The controller´s performance is decided by the proper selection of the control parameters. In this paper, Bacterial Foraging Optimization Algorithm (BFOA) is applied for optimizing the controller´s parameters of a dc-dc converter. The robustness of the BFOA tuned PID controlled DC-DC converter under load disturbances is studied. Finally, the controller´s effectiveness is studied by comparing it with the conventional PID controlled DC-DC converter.
