Abstract :
A detailed investigation and comparison of the auxiliary resonant commutated pole (ARCP) principle in the voltage source converter, the current source converter, and the matrix converter is given. The impact of the commutation times in ARCP topologies on the output quantities is shown. Loss simulations enable a loss comparison of the ARCP topologies and the respective hard switching converters. Design and optimization issues of the ARCP topologies are addressed
