Abstract
Ontology has essential role in Semantic Web realization. Ontology development can be categorized as manual, semi-automatic and automatic. In this paper, we are going to investigate which category is the best approach in the ontology development. Therefore we compared between the ontology structures produce by manual ontology development with automatic ontology development. The comparison is done based on the concept and instance of the ontology structure. During the experiment, we use DuriO which constructed previously by using manual approach. Meanwhile for automatic approach, we use Text2Onto. Then from both approaches, the structures were extracted and bar charts are presented to show the difference. As the result, the ontology structure produced by using manual approach is aligned as expected with domain knowledge. Whereas, the ontology structure produced by using automatic ontology development contain excessive unrelated terms.
