  • Abstract
Performance of multiuser orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems with transmit diversity over the frequency selective fading channel is explored. We develop a signal model for the multiuser OFDM system using Alamouti´s transmit diversity scheme and apply the minimum mean square error (MMSE) method to detect the transmitted symbols of cochannel users. Performance analysis is carried out for a 2×4 multiple input multiple output (MIMO) system with different number of cochannel users. It is shown that performance of the OFDM with transmit diversity in a multiuser system depends significantly on the degree of freedom (DOF) available at the receive array.
