Abstract :
A symmetrized version of the wideband ambiguity function is proposed, by observing the relationship between ambiguity functions and the theory of certain groups. Its 2-D Fourier transform has properties similar to the Wigner distribution, and it is called the affine Wigner distribution, by analogy. This approach is compared with earlier work by R.A. Altes (1989) and by O. Rioul and P. Flandrin (1990)
