Abstract
The PolySwitch miniSMD polymer PTC (PPTC) resettable fuse uses unique new methods of assembly and a new low resistivity material to achieve resettable overcurrent circuit protection in a surprisingly small package. With the introduction of miniSMD designers of high density electronics now have increased flexibility and a cost competitive alternative to simple one-use surface-mount fuses. This benefits not only the manufacturer of the equipment, with the lower warranty costs associated with not having to replace fuses, but also the user of the end product as well with increased reliably and ease of use
