Abstract :
MEMS based devices have found many applications in the medical field. They offer many advantages that have proven very attractive to the medical community. The size, cost and functionality have given the technology substantial success in many areas such as disposable pressure sensors. The benefits of MEMS, though broad and applicable to many areas of medicine, still require up-front and thorough analysis of the markets, proper assessment of the clinical realities of cost and acceptance in the biomedical community
