Abstract
The beam-space performance of DOA estimation is analyzed for several subspace processing algorithms in a unified fashion based on a finite amount of measurements. The mean-squared errors (MSE) of DOA estimation of these algorithms are expressed in a single formula using physical parameters like array manifold and beamformer matrix. The important relationship between MSE and dimension of beam-space is revealed, and optimality of beamforming is discussed
