Abstract :
Channel/leaders initiated at and propagating from an electrically floating wire particle located between two parallel electrodes under impulse voltage have been studied. The propagation characteristics do to some degree resemble what has been found in point-to plane gaps. However, the propagation speeds are lower, and they cover a smaller space angle. The diameter of the streamer/leader channel is much larger for the negative ones than for the positive ones
