Abstract :
This paper describes field measurements made in support of CECOM´s on-the-move high-capacity trunk radio research and development program. The measurements probe channel characteristics and, in a field environment, assess demodulator performance using dynamic adaptive equalization as a mitigation technique for microwave broadband wireless links. The measurements were made over ranges of 1 to 40 miles while stationary or mobile at speeds up to 55 mph in hilly and flat terrain at 7.5 and 4.45 GHz. A data rate of 50 Mbps (25 Mbaud QPSK) was used for the measurements. The measurements are believed to be the first of their kind
