  • Abstract
In the e-commerce environment, the response time of query processing is very critical. Database management systems (DBMSs) process the query in a wide area network (WAN) in contrast with a local area network (LAN). The processing speed in the WAN is slow with a large data volume. Given this situation, how can we achieve a reasonable response time? Response time relies heavily on the server to process the relevant tuples and passes them back to the client side. Therefore, the different types of improved techniques are built in the e-commerce environment to meet the critical response time required. We discuss the threshold values, which can improve the response time of query processing
