Title :
A virtual instrument design laboratory for rapid prototyping of medical instrumentation
Author :
Oldenburg, John T.
Abstract :
A “virtual instrument” (VI) may be defined as device which is used for information acquisition and/or process control and which is entirely constructed using a personal computer class workstation equipped with an input/output (I/O) interface board that is suitable for use with the transducers and/or control actuators necessary for the specified application. The instrument is almost entirely designed in software using advanced object-oriented and icon-based graphical programming tools
